FRAME STAGE INSPECTION
What we inspect at frame stage are according to the Australian Standards (AS 1684 Residential timber-framed construction, AS 1860-2006 Installation of particleboard flooring), the Building Code of Australia (BCA), VBA guide to standards and tolerances 2015 and the relevant engineer’s drawings and specifications.
We use a comprehensive inspection checklist including but not limited to the following:

The finish of the concrete slab is thoroughly checked for any exposed steel, damage or cracks

Floor levelness of each Storey to be checked according to VBA guide to standards and tolerances 2015

The size of the finished slab is measured to check it accords with the relevant floor plan

The room size and the height of all floors as per architecture plan

All doors and windows opening and position as per floor plan

Structural steel members like post, beam, lintel and bracing checked for support and fixings

All sections of the frame are checked to ensure it is level, plumb, straight and square
-
All sections of the roof trusses are correctly installed, tied down and adequately braced
-
Bottom plates that overhang the concrete slabs by more than 10mm need to be rectified
-
Wall frame member spacing are adequate with blocking & nogging installed for wall and ceiling linings
-
Location of under-slab services penetrations through the floor are in appropriate rooms
-
The installation of perimeter termite barrier where required
